Join Harbin Doc Walk and Talk tonight and earn 10 HarbinSTRONG points. Meet at 5:30 p.m. at Bridepointe Plaza in Downtown Rome!
Harbin Clinic Orthopaedic Surgeon Dr. Jason Rogers invites locals to get outside, walk with friends and possibly receive some medical advice in the process during the second meeting of the Harbin Doc Walk and Talk Series.
The event takes place on Tuesday, April 19 at Bridgepoint Plaza on Second Avenue in Rome at 5:30 p.m. where participants will get the chance to walk and talk with Dr. Rogers.
The American Heart Association says one of the best ways to get started walking is to walk with a group. Walking is a low-cost, easy way to get some great exercise. It doesn’t require special clothes, equipment or membership to a gym or special club.
Dr. Rogers says he would love to talk to participants about arthritis, knee pain and hip pain but also welcomes other medical questions people may have.
The walk lasts approximately 30 to 45 minutes and is roughly about two miles.
Harbin Clinic Vitality Fitness Instructor Amy Simmons will be present as well. Simmons is an exercise junkie who loves running, walking and exercising and also instructs several classes at Vitality Fitness, including the Trekking series.
There will also be a Harbin Doc Walk and Talk event on Tuesday, May 17 that will be led by Harbin Clinic Psychologist Dr. Candice Claiborne.
Weather in April and May can be unpredictable. Please check Harbin Clinic’s web site, Facebook and Twitter pages for updates about the events in case of bad weather. For more information, visit www.harbinclinic.com.
