This week, participants of the Harbin Healthy You program are being challenged to focus on eating 5 small meals a day. Starting the day off with breakfast and then continuing to eat every 3 to 4 hours provides our bodies and brains with a steady stream of nutrients and energy. While 5 meals per day may seem intimidating, the key to success is reaching for healthy, wholesome foods and practicing portion control. Brian Wansink, author of the book Mindless Eating says that “while a healthy snack might be a bag of almonds, a healthy mini meal involves more than two food groups.”
