It’s summertime! Swimming and playing in the water are great ways for the whole family to get active. These tips will help you play it safe.
When you go to the beach or pool this summer, keep the focus on fun and safety. Drowning is the leading cause of death from injuries for kids ages 1 to 4. The good news is you can take steps to keep your loved ones safe.
-Sign up the kids for swimming lessons.
-If you don’t know how to swim, sign yourself up for lessons too!
-Watch all children in the water even if they know how to swim.
-Don’t use floating toys like water rings and noodles in place of life jackets.
-If you have a pool, make sure it is completely fenced off from the yard.
