Mindful Eating: Nutrition Basics in a Diet Crazy World

Lead by Dr. John Azar-Dickens, this discussion will focus on the basic science of nutrition and how this plays into a society where dieting is a major trend. Participants will be introduced to the concept of mindful eating and how this approach to nutrition enables one to break free from the destructive habits that accompany dieting and other unhealthy patterns of weight management.

Thursday, January 19 – Group walks at lunch

Meet at the back entrance of the main clinic at 11:15 a.m. or 12:15 p.m. for a 1.25 mile walk through Summerville Park.  The walk will take 20-25 minutes so you will still have time for lunch or a quick errand.  Be sure to wear comfortable walking shoes!

Friday, January 20 and Saturday, January 21 – HarbinSTRONG Wellness Expo at the Vitality Center

Friday 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m. – noon. 

Start the New Year off with a focus on your personal health.  Learn about services available to you in the clinic and the community, try out a “mini” group exercise class, sample delicious healthy foods, and much more.  All employees are required to attend and family members are welcome.  Comfortable clothing is recommended.  Sign up in advance on the intranet.

Thrive!  Weight Loss is a nutrition education program designed to teach you a new way of combining real foods and retraining your body to become an efficient fat burning machine.  Learn about this popular weight loss program and ask questions to determine if this is the right option for you.  There is no obligation to attend the Information Session.  Please sign up in advance via the HarbinSTRONG calendar on the Intranet.

Saturday, January 28 – Grocery Store Tour

10 a.m. at Kroger in Riverbend Mall in Rome
